In rural Alberta, a cowboy hat is more than a piece of clothing. It represents honesty, hard work, and integrity. It symbolizes our values and the importance of trust and keeping one's word.

Canadians were disappointed to hear Prime Minister Carney admit he deliberately misled Canadians about the Gordie Howe International Bridge revenue-sharing agreement with the United States. His explanation, that he was wearing a cowboy hat in Calgary at the time, made light of something far more serious.

Canadians understand there are times when governments must negotiate difficult deals. What they should never have to question is whether their Prime Minister is being truthful with them.

For farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers across southern Alberta, stable access to U.S. markets is not an abstract political issue. It affects family farms, livelihoods, and the economic future of our communities. At a time when our producers face uncertainty from tariffs, trade disputes, and rising costs, confidence in Canada's leadership has never been more important.

During the election, the Prime Minister promised Canadians he would get a deal with President Trump. More than a year later not only is there no deal, but tariffs are higher and tens of thousands of Canadian workers have lost their jobs.

Don't blame the cowboy hat. Around here, it still stands for keeping your word. Canadians deserve a Prime Minister who does the same.

🚨When will Canadian journalists do their job? A little digging and there is a lot more context.

He is not the Nemaska Chief, he is a "Proxy Chief".

As residents of Quebec, the Nemaska First Nation have voted in referendums that they now try to deny to Albertan citizens.

The Nemaska First Nation is in the process of negotiating a Self-Government Agreement with Canada. They want self-determination but they advocate against others having self-determination.

The Nemaska First Nation has a registered population of 800.

According to the Canada Spends database, the Nemaska First Nation financials were no longer publicly available. According to another database, the Nemaska First Nation has received $100,591,272.40 from the Federal Government.

That is a lot of money to motivate a proxy to advocate against something they themselves are trying to achieve; Independence from Canada.

Maybe the headline should be updated; "Another grifter paid by the Federal Government to make a hypocritical statement against democracy in Alberta."

Ford banned American alcohol to “punish” US producers, but he didn’t lower the price of the Canadian whisky he sells to us.

He kept the ridiculous markup, then triggered a 50% tariff on Canadian goods in the process.

Because of Doug Ford, Canadian exporters will now pay a 50% tariff.

But Ontario consumers still get to pay the markup.

It’s a shakedown.
