@bobpockrass The only reason they asked him not to do it is because they paid a lot of money to host the Cup race, and they didn't want to spend all night cleaning burnout marks off the bricks. Just like how other tracks don't want the O'Reilly winner to wreck the grass before the cup race.
@Jimmie_DennyFan It's because the track paid about $11 million in sanction fees to host the cup race, and only maybe 500k to host the O'Reilly race. So the O'Reilly winner isn't supposed to mark up the bricks before the big event.
