Besides, the US used to also. It's why, ironically, you say "The 4th of July" and not "July 4th"
@OuroborosCobra @PrincessMissDee@allthe_moore@rachsyme That's true, and for a lot of applications it isn't an issue, but lowering the resistance increases current and requires the circuit to handle it (else fires and blown fuses). North America has a similar current limit.
@allthe_moore@ZanBanger@Jamie_Grettum@rachsyme To throw a spanner in the works: I boil water in a kettle every evening, use it to make a Vietnamese drip coffee, re-heat it in the morning in the microwave for 1 min so I can easily dissolve condensed milk into it, then pour it over ice for an iced coffee. 🤪
