@y2kmarcus_ It's a great Jean story. In case you're interested, there's a lovely analysis of this issue here. It's not by me, but it's one of my favourite bits of writing about Jean https://t.co/yV7mhkdpwf
@alfred_wickham@mon_kollarova@nastasiaKlimash@AgnesCallamard@jes_chastain She acknowledged that the invasion of Ukraine is terribly important, and also that institutional misogyny and racism is a factor in why some other terrible situations in the world are largely ignored by corporate media. So, she made some excellent points.
@Criterion@jes_chastain Love The Tree of Life. Beautiful film that I rewatch every year and that stays with me for days after each watch. 4K version please!!!
@danny_quezada@jes_chastain She also hosted an interesting live discussion with human rights advocate Dr. Nina Ansary, on the Iranian uprising. Jessica has done plenty more than just tweet about these issues.
@danny_quezada@jes_chastain Well, for starters, Jessica traveled to Ukraine recently, visiting a children's hospital & meeting President Zelenskyy, bringing significant media focus. She has discussed the issues in TV and print interviews & worn pro-Iranian uprising clothes when knowing she'd be photographed
@EricMad17@jes_chastain Not to speak for her, but I think the point Jessica is making is that press outlets did want to talk with her about Ukraine, but not about Iran, meaning people do care about her political views, they just weren't interested in talking about Iran.
