@Hertz Hi Alexandra, having read the confirmation email with the Hertz rep, I understand it states the requirement for a credit card. However, £410 extra to pay just to use debit card is outrageously high
Awful experience with @Hertz today. Booked a 10 day car rental online for £78, on arrival forced to pay £488...
With a 300 km journey, we needed a car so Hertz forced us to buy their premium insurance which we could pay for on debit card.
The price we paid online was £78, Hertz premium insurance was an extra £410. 😮
On arrival we were forced to pay £1,600 on a as credit card for a deposit on a small car rental. Our credit card had a maximum of £500 and after calling our bank, we found out that they couldn’t increase the limit on the same day.
