Nah this has made it worst tbh. England every man inside their own box and quickly scored on the counter through Rashford and Saka.
The exact scenario could’ve played out vs Argentina
@dharnishiqbal Like Rogers is great and all. However, still Chelsea continue to buy all the players in the middle, and yet do not have an elite 9 or goalkeeper. As long as that is the case, they will flatter to deceive.
@Zonal_Marking You can make a case for chess like substitutions but each of those subs subconsciously told the players bed in, sit back, hold firm. Way way too long to attempt that strategy. Watching the Egypt game would show the way to get them on the break, but when it mattered we didn’t try.
Honestly, I’d be sacking him immediately. World class technician or not. The pedigree of the managers in the final shows being an “elite” coach isn’t a requirement. Just someone who can actually spot 35 minutes of warning signs and adapt accordingly
The comparison between Tuchel and Southgate isn’t fair. Southgate would have won the game last night, under him we might have tapped the breaks a bit but never sat that deep, that early, taking off all our threat on the break - only to go a goal down and bring on Rashford & Toney
@Matt_Law_DT If the @FA have any sense, they would read the room. You can’t get away with doing the exact thing you have been employed to change.
Watch the Egypt game back and tell me how taking the pace away from our front line was anything other than a blatant mistake.
@Ankaman616@JayMotty There’s no other conclusion than he bottled it. Argentina were there for the taking and we just sat back. Took all our threat away and said, go on beat us. I said after Norway that Tuchel had validated the decision to hire him by getting to a semi, but I am now doubting that
@WestHam_Central Big win that. Richest club in the lower leagues. Maybe if you get relegated again you could sell Bowen and have an open top bus with piles of cash!
@Jaack I really enjoyed last night, and I’m sure it would feel different if England went all the way, but I still care more about my club’s fortunes than England.
@footyinsider247 Absolutely, I’d have him, Trent, Palmer, Wharton, Hall.
However it isn’t EA FC, there’s more to it than the best players. But on the face of it, each of those players is an improvement on our current options
