@OriginalGrogna1 My grandparents got me and my other cousins our own copies of the Basic and Expert sets courtesy of word of mouth and the Sears catalogue. Me trying to learn Basic D&D resulted in one of my older brother’s friends gifting me his AD&D PHB as well as his Holmes Basic.
