En 20 años, Alonso nunca ha tenido el coche más rápido y ha ganado 2 Mundiales y se ha quedado a nada de otros 3, es una pena la elección de escuderías en ciertos momentos, lo que podría haber sido…
Last night I had the privilege of going on @BBCRadio4’s Any Questions. Thank you to @AlexForsythBBC for hosting and to all the other panelists.
In this question I talked about the trustworthiness of AI and in particular its impact on Jobs.
Sometimes in politics it’s easy to miss these big picture issues.
Delighted to see yesterday more coverage for Prosperity Through Growth, our new book setting out how to get Britain back on the path to prosperity.
In the @DailyMail yesterday “Brits are set to become poorer than Turks and Latvians…” (1/3)

Great to hear Prosperity Through Growth mentioned on this morning’s EMQ’s podcast with @edballs and @George_Osborne.
For the book, we interviewed 9 former Chancellors, (including George!) and 5 former Prime Ministers (Including Tony Blair), reflecting on how to get Britain growing again.
Payrolled employment is falling. The latest ONS estimates published this morning show payrolled job numbers down sharply vs last year, with 127,000 fewer people in employment. 1/4
Delighted to celebrate the success of the UK’s hospitality sector at the 13th British Kebab Awards, organised by my friend @ibrahim_Dogus (a @TheJobsFndn AC member), hosted by Speaker @LindsayHoyle_MP, and also featuring Conservative MP @GavinWilliamson
The new growth stats out this morning show that our approach to economic growth is not working. If GDP since 2008 had grown at the same rate as 2000-2007, the UK would be more than £600 billion wealthier as a nation. 1/3

Important article in @CityAM by @James_A_Reed on how employers are now less likely to hire ex-offenders than in 2013. Employment is the best way to prevent reoffending. We talk about this in a new @TheJobsFndn report, out next week https://t.co/18bBd5OHpk
The first day back yesterday kicked off with a thoughtful oral question on productivity and AI, which included this exchange between Baroness Winterton and Lord Vallance, who made the astute point that it will be AI that works out where the biggest gains are from AI rather than Ministers or Peers/MPs in London. Given public sector productivity is still below pre-Covid levels, it remains one of the key challenges for this Government. The Department for Business’s recent AI trial found that, so far, it has only helped civil servants make “small” time savings
We need to have an uncomfortable conversation about pensions.
It was introduced in 1909, but it wasn't until 1950 that the average life crossed the threshold.
Now we live nearly 20% of our lives above the state pension age, and growing.
