I will never get used to scientific studies that focus only on the strongest effects (with or without abuse of p-values) to build a story. Focussing only on the wins will even make the worst sports team in a league look like the champion. It is just like that
@PWGTennant @jd_wilko This is how I feel, as @jd_wilko knows. If it's not cross-sectional, then... it's longitudinal. And to be clear, it's an aspect of the study design that we're talking about. I don't think I would call the analysis of this study a "longitudinal analysis", however it's performed.
I start my Fellowship this week(!!) and would seriously appreciate any advice for starting a PhD. Methodological literature reviews, expectations vs reality of your first few weeks/months.. that sort of thing!? #phdadvice#phdchat#statstwitter
