Had a fab day graduating from @OfficialUoM with a PhD in Health Informatics today 🎓
Also delighted that Cleo made an (albeit slightly chaotic) appearance for some photos. #PhDog#DrSisk#graduation
Funded PhD position available for a home student at The University of Manchester exploring joint modelling methodology for clinical prediction models. Details here: https://t.co/5BK3ASOvi3
Chronic kidney disease is a well known complication of type 2 diabetes, but @rosesisk+al found inconsistent use of CKD diagnosis codes among patients with T2DM. As CKD coding is associated with improved outcomes, this research acts as a call to action

New paper published in @BJGPOpen!
We observed a lack of CKD diagnosis coding in patients with type 2 diabetes in UK primary care. Read the full paper here: https://t.co/stfOgYQNtr
Thanks to my brilliant co-authors @cjmspowell@drwaqastahir@Gendiushealth
@hirstposition@ternfellow I thought those rainclouds looked familiar! Hope the presentation went well - I've no doubt Fraser did all of your amazing efforts justice.
Great to see our most recent research working at @Gendiushealth getting some attention. CKD is a growing problem and we need solutions that support early identification to prevent progression to end stage disease. Shout out to the incredible @rosesisk leading this research!
Enjoyed connecting with colleagues from across Europe at #PCDE2023. We learned about some of the key challenges faced by primary care practitioners in managing diabetes and CKD, and the role of tech in developing innovative solutions to support patients and clinicians.
The Gendius team has had a great time at the #PCDE2023 conference.
Presenting our latest work and connecting with international primary care professionals.
A great step forward in understanding how our digital solutions can help embellish primary care systems globally
#PCDE23
This morning we presented our poster on the consistency of eGFR-based CKD and diagnosis coding in type 2 diabetes in UK primary care at #PCDE2023
Very grateful to be here with the @Gendiushealth team @Claudia_Sarah_ and @cjmspowell
@Tufts_PACE @glen_martin1 @MatthewSperrin @NielsPeek @MaartenvSmeden We made this same assumption for the simulation too, agreed that it's a strong one. I'd argue that for any prediction model, there's an inherent assumption that the data generating mechanism is the same at development and deployment so missingness is just one part of that.
**New paper from my PhD research out this morning**
Watch this space for a Tweetorial!
Massive thanks to my brilliant co-authors @glen_martin1 @MatthewSperrin @NielsPeek @MaartenvSmeden
@ChBurkhart Yes exactly 🙂 it's then pretty simple to map the simulated datasets onto whatever else you want to do, e.g. estimate some statistic, fit models etc.
One week left to apply! ⏰
We currently have 36 PhD studentships available across our research themes.
Applications close at midnight next Wednesday, 25 January.

Next week @rosesisk from our data science team will be kicking off the 2023 seminar sessions for the Centre for Health Informatics at @OfficialUoM ,
Speaking about our recent prediction modelling work.
