@AndreaFGorton @LVHoosierGK We were on campus multiple times for unofficials and she went for an official visit. As a player coming from across the country there wasn't much more we could have done. The official visit was primarily with the coaches and 1 outing to starbucks with some of the players.

@LVHoosierGK The sad part is that team is very good but they could be incredible if they had any chemistry and took the time to care about one another and get to know each other better. 2 team bonding activities in preseason. Never got together outside of soccer practice again.

@LVHoosierGK So far she's had a few conversations and a long list of coaches wanting more info. But during the recruiting process there def needs to be more emphasis on team dynamics and what they're like with one another outside of the game and even in training.

@Don_K_Williams They're paying for the label and exposure. Kid makes the ECNL/GA team or club at 10 and parents think this is their only way to be seen for college. So they stick around for 8 years continuously writing those checks regardless of the quality of the team and coach.

@Don_K_Williams A big part of the quality issue is that ECNL/GA have an entire club accepted into their league instead of individual teams earning the right to be there. I know here in Utah being on an ECNL or GA team doesn't mean the best team, you're literally only paying for the label.

@Don_K_Williams This is exactly why recruiting needs to change! There will ALWAYS be those players! Today I watched a solid ACM on a subpar comp team that gets minimal exposure due to cost. There needs to be dedicated recruiting staff that can attend these smaller events.

@Don_K_Williams from my experience with a club/team that was #1 in the GA last year and has a college coach coaching them, he splits time with all players doesn't matter the level of play. Some days you start others you don't, but most positions split time 50/50. So scouts will miss potential.

@LVHoosierGK I hung it up after 17 years. I still find myself stopping at games and evaluating players and their potential. The dream job of recruiting sits on the back burner for now. The next 4 years will be watching my daughter play at Milwaukee as often as I can.
