@fitay59@JamesMelville I understand people don't like developments, but how is a fence any different to most houses that have six foot fences surrounding them?
At the front of those houses, for example?
@fitay59@JamesMelville In the proposal.
For most of my life, I've lived near a coal-fired power station, dominated the skyline.
That's now gone and being replaced by a number of data centres. So taking advantage of the infrastructure at old fossil sites seems to be common.
@fitay59@JamesMelville Yes. I remember the news reports on the activities that were disrupting and polluting the surrounding area.
Is it true that the land now proposed to be used by the data centre was originally earmarked by the Council for the chemical plant expansion?
@netwars1984@JamesMelville Is this single platform for apps still progressing? Would make things much simpler.
I assume handling cash costs the parking companies money, so they are all for contactless and apps.

@_JordanDecker Yup. Reverse into a roadside space, you just have to watch what's immediately behind.
Reverse out of a space, you have to do this, plus watch any cross traffic, often through the privacy glass of the cars either side who can't be bothered to reverse park either.
@alex_read13@HowardCCox We have no pavement where I live. 20 mph limit feels much safer, and it's very noticeable that drivers have slowed down, despite what Howard claims.
@WingsEcosse@JamesMelville The numbers are decreasing, though.
It's about the ponies being counted as grazing stock under new schemes. Worry is if people want to maximise cattle + sheep, they'll get rid of ponies.
NE insist this isn't the intention, as the ponies are officially endangered.
@MingleDandy@keithbarker58@TiceRichard Don't think so. We imported over 110 TWh last year.
Projected North Sea gas output, even with all the licences approved, is declining.
@LaneyGH@writethewrongs2 Don't think you raise enough for that.
Forecast is under Β£3 billion from taxing North Sea oil and gas in 25/26.
Just subsidising our bills for one winter during the Ukraine price spike cost the govt over Β£40 billion.
@renewablesmiffy@Artemisfornow What's amusing is that she has a heat pump. Moans about it, but she's probably been protected from this year's spike in heating oil prices as a result.
@let_part@OliveOilx666@Artemisfornow I think the idea is cheaper public charging.
My petrol car equates to about 60p/kWh on fuel costs. Above that, and I'm paying more than a petrol car.
