@ms_peaceweaver That lane looks like bliss, compared to the lanes leading into my Devon village 🤣
The width is the same; the hedges are the same ( glorious in Spring) and the view is just as beautiful but oh, the potholes!
@NovelistJessica “You seem, with massive enthusiasm, to gallop backwards and forwards in the era in the manner of an over-excited buffalo.” A level History - essay on James I. 😳
@DebbieJH629 ‘Birdsong’ is more literary than ‘Charlotte Gray’ - richer in imagery and motifs. Such a crafted piece of writing. But I’m fond of CG too! There are some poignant character links between the two novels. Look out for Col Gray, Charlotte’s father and the German Levi.
@PosyHill1@halfshiretales That’s the one. Katherine only exists in two stylised stained glass images. Her tomb in Tiverton is lost, too. However, she’s totally vivid in my imagination!
@HotspurSam I think you would enjoy my portrayal
of Margaret as a young woman in my novel ‘Bright Shadow’, the story of her cousin Katherine. Great reviews on Amazon.
@Thehistorybits @HotspurSam @PSHistory@penswordbooks I hope you’ll take some time to read my novel ‘Bright Shadow’, the true, compelling story of Edward’s IV’s daughter Katherine, and her relationship with her sisters. 5 stars on Amazon.
@RMVdeR@TowerOfLondon I know. It’s a shame they can’t get their facts right. The 2006 memorial is merely a place of reflection. We know from contemporary letters that Anne’s scaffold was ‘before the House of Ordanance’. In 1536 the ‘Green’ stretched all around the Tower.
