Nutrien Vermilion had a 2nd farm
jump on the #NutrienHometownPride challenge this year. Lumley Farms heard about the initiative at our 2024 canola tour and eagerly awaited the announcement for 2025. They planted their PV 661 on May 26th under the watchful eye of this guy.
We are excited to announce the winners of the 2024 Nutrien Ag Solutions Hometown Yield Challenge! 🎉
We'd like to thank all the growers who took part in the challenge. Read the full story at: https://t.co/KzasCLrhw0
Took a couple of hours today to help Southview Ag (@trevorfarkash and family/friends) take off their PV 881OCM #NutrienHometownPride yield challenge field. Dustin and I were in the combine, Jace and Eddie were our grain cart crew, Perry ran the 2nd combine as the cleanup crew and Trevor drove around supervising. And I can’t forget Lyle, he was harrowing across the road cheering us on from a distance. 😁
The Southview crew (@trevorfarkash and gang) are one step closer to harvesting their PV881 OCM #NutrienHometownPride field. Dustin Farkash (sprayer operator) and his son, Kaysen (drone operator) tag teamed for some great ground and aerial videos/photos of their preharvest application. @ProvenSeed@NutrienAg_NAB
#NutienHometownpride yield challenge my PV661LCM might of held on to see some differences only time now got pre harvest completed last week my sprayer guy took some pictures then dr one with a A.I. Picture. @ProvenSeed@NutrienAg_NAB#ATLAS next step combine.
Harvest season means apple picking season which leads to that first harvest dessert which, of course, is fresh apple crisp. Apple pie would have also worked but I didn’t have the time to make pie crust. #harvest24
I did my ag degree at the U of S and I can honestly say 20 year old me would laugh at what 43 year old is doing today. Not at all where I thought I would end up however I am incredibly grateful for the journey that has been almost 20 years in an industry that continues to evolve. As for my kids, they are welcome to farm with us as long as they have some kind of post secondary education under their belt before coming back. Take what you want - ag related or not. Never know where the road will take you.
Our retail summer staff - Landyn, Emily and Kaitlyn, along with some of the Nutrien Vermilion warehouse staff- Megan, Tamara and Carissa - put together an awesome float for the 118th Vermilion Fair Parade.
Our Proven Seed brand fit nicely with this year’s theme of “Fields of Dreams”.
A big thank you to my Retail Field Interns, Landyn and Emily, for putting up signs on our two #NutrienHometownPride Yield Challenge fields for @trevorfarkash and @ChrisMcLean30. I think next year there should be a sign that says “Official Field Entry in the Nutrien Hometown Yield Challenge”.
I am really liking how good the pea crops look this year. A fungicide application, a few more timely rains and some more sun and we will be golden. #plant24
