This will give a licence to some to flout what the majority of us have strived so hard to uphold. I am so fearful this will result in a 2nd spike, more deaths and even more social and economic repercussions. Why oh why has he just lobbed a ‘confusion hand grenade’ into the mix?

When there were already significant signs of complacency, massaging of the rules (VE Day parties for example) and ‘fraying around the edges’, this latest announcement is at best unhelpful and at worst irresponsible. I had hoped for better and feel so bitterly disappointed.
