Grok 5 is still deep in training on the massive Colossus II cluster.
Roughly 220k high-end NVIDIA GPUs are already online, with more being added.
Power draw is sitting around 1 GW and climbing.
The model is targeting the 6 to 10 trillion parameter range, which puts it in a completely different league from anything currently public.
Training has been running since at least January.
Elon recently confirmed it should arrive before the end of 2026 and will be trained on the full 25-year SpaceX engineering data set.
That combination of extreme scale plus proprietary real-world engineering data is the real story here.
This is not another incremental Grok 4.x update.
It is the much larger architectural and compute jump happening in the background while the smaller releases keep rolling out.
When it lands it should give SpaceX a serious internal edge on engineering, simulation and design problems that current models still struggle with.
Cursor is already running on the same cluster, so the jump in capability should show up there too.
No firm date yet, but the ambition on both compute and data is very real.
Your stomach runs at pH 1.5, acid that strips flesh and kills what lives in rotting meat. A lion is nearer 3.6. You are closer to a vulture than to any ape alive.
You have no rumen, no cud, nowhere to park grass for two days while bacteria take it apart.
Your colon is short and quiet. A chimp's is a fermentation vat and he chews six hours a day to keep it running.
Sixty per cent of your gut is small intestine, where fat and protein go in. Sixty per cent of his is colon, where plants get fermented.
Your gut shrank to pay for your brain: sixty per cent fat, a fifth of your energy at rest, the most expensive organ any animal has ever run on leaves and never could.
You cannot make B12, no plant makes it either, and running out strips the insulation off your nerves for good.
You cannot make creatine in the amounts your muscle and brain want. That comes out of red meat.
You convert plant omega-3 to DHA at about one per cent, and DHA is the substance your retina and grey matter are physically built from.
You cannot trust beta-carotene for vitamin A. Millions carry a variant that wrecks the conversion and go their whole lives never knowing.
You take iron from meat at fifteen to thirty-five per cent through a receptor built for the version wrapped in blood. From spinach, about two.
Your teeth have no grinding plates and your jaw will not swing sideways like a cow's.
Your eyes face forward. That is what a hunter is given. A prey animal never gets it.
Acid built to dissolve carcasses, a gut too short to ferment a plant, and a brain too expensive to run on one.
Everything in your biology is screaming at you to eat meat.
And you insist on a kale smoothie and a tablet.
@xxdovey It's very normal and has zero to do with upbringing.
In the same way that the most physically beautiful people can still have low self slesteem / body image issues
This is going to sound crazy.
But, one of the skills you must learn in the near future is how to cope with an increasingly illiterate society of emotionally dysregulated people.
If you continue to get frustrated on a daily basis over how everything seems dumb, stress is going to silently jeopardize your health.๏ฟผ
Apparently, I'm supposed to be angry at Hollywood because they didn't "let me see myself" onscreen for 100 years.
Well I can't be angry about that - because they did represent me.
When Superman caught Lois in 1978, that was me.
When Indiana Jones fought the Nazis for the Ark, that was me.
When Luke Skywalker destroyed the Death Star, that was me.
When James Bond saved the world 20 times (before Daniel Craig), that was me.
When John McClane defeated Hans Gruber, that was me.
When Spider-Man stopped the runaway train, that was me.
When Neo stopped the bullets and defeated Agent Smith, that was me.
When The Terminator said "Come with me if you eant to live," that was me.
And when Ripley said, "Get away from her, you bitch!" - that was me too.
Because I'm NOT the color of my skin.
I'm the content of my character.
And my character is heroic, honorable, courageous, determined, and willing to fight against impossible odds.
That's who I USED to see on the screen.
Hollywood won't give us that anymore.
For that, I am angry.
Been writing/warning about the Bab el Mandeb Strait and Strait of Hormuz being closed at the same time as something of a 'sum of all fears' energy crisis out of Middle East for over a decade. This was always Iran's biggest cards to play. We were waiting to see this occur, Houthis very quiet during Epic Fury. Now this happens at a highly strategic military, economic and political moment. Meanwhile, Russia's output is also impacted heavily by Ukrainian strikes. An additional wildcard factor. It all comes after fuel prices remained elevated and reserves low globally. The U.S. economic situation is also a factor here, this is putting additional pressure on a market that has signs of increased volatility. All this is happening going into the mid terms with Republican majorities at risk, as well. Right on cue. Extreme pressure.
