@bdjansenphd Sort of. I used a meme-building activity to get students thinking about a concept in one of the junior-level classes I TA'd for. They worked in groups & had to create a meme that illuminated the concept. It was fun, and it got some back-row students engaged.

Such an important point from @AntibioticDoc about how to disagree with someone without dehumanizing them. People are deeply layered, and it's unlikely we'll agree with all the layers.

you don’t have to agree and value every thing a person has done or said to potentially still consider them a worthwhile human (that you don’t agree 100% with.)

@FromPhDtoLife Completely agree. When I was finishing my PhD and starting to take on contract work as a prelude to the job hunt, I found a strange anti-money attitude in academia, as if I were being mercenary as I tried to put bread on the table for my family. Getting paid matters.
