One of the most attractive Broomrapes in #Cornwall is the Thyme Broomrape. It has no chlorophyll or leaves and steals nutrients from Wild Thyme in which it grows. Beautiful plant.

A few of the 866 Bee Orchids (Ophrys apifera) I counted tonight on a small bank in an Exeter office park ๐ Well done for keeping the mowers at bay @_sarahbutcher ๐ @ukorchids
One of the absolute stars of the show at Sandwich Bay last week. The deliciously fragrant Bedstraw Broomrape aka Clove-scented Broomrape, Orobanche caryophyllacea. ๐

Home to the largest no. of Green-winged Orchids in Shropshire, Minsterley Meadows is special. Itโs now for sale & at risk - just 1 year without management will mean numbers plummet! ๐ฑ๐

A lovely way to spend the afternoon trying to spot the different colour variations amidst the Green-winged Orchids, Anacamptis morio. A pick and mix of gorgeousness from deepest purple, lilac, bubblegum, shell pink and white. Which is your favourite? ๐ #wildflowerhour
A gorgeous day for exploring Llanymynech Rocks. Lots of beautiful wildflowers to admire, from Early Purple Orchids, stately Cuckoo Pints, swathes of Greater Stitchwort and so many Cowslips & Primroses, their love child, the False Oxlip could also be found! #wildflowerhour
Early purple orchid on roadside verge, Plympton Plymouth - fortunately it is reserved and looked after for it's wild flowers. @WildFlowerSoc@BSBIbotany@WildFlowerSoc
