@BreneBrown I’m visiting my dad who’s really sick. It’s the second time I’ve met him. I asked him yesterday what his favorite song was. Tonight he got up right before falling asleep to come tell me that he figured it out. Amazing Grace. When he passes, that’s a memory I’ll hold onto.
My dad is really sick so I dropped everything and flew to another state to see him. Lots of feelings. My OCD is making me feel really guilty about missing work, even tho they are super supportive. I just don’t want to be that unreliable coworker. I’m so frustrated. Any advice?
I’ve been in a lot of pain recently and went to the ER on Saturday. I’m supposed to go to work today but idk if I can make it. I already felt guilty for missing Saturday but now my mom is encouraging me to go today and I just don’t know if I have it in me.
I need to put in a two weeks notice to my current job, but I don’t know how. Do I call? Do I just tell my manager straight to his face? Do I leave a note? I am terrified that for some reason they will yell at me or something, which I know is my OCD trying to scare me.
@1daat_GA @anxietyaloner Thank you!!! It’s a place I hate working at, especially because of the managers, so I’m not sure how well it will go over. Either way I’m quitting 😂
After all the CPD and professional reading, I can safely say a 14 year old has taught me more than anyone about the impact of trauma on behaviour. “The thing is Clare, I will just be worse and worse until you hate me. Then I can hate you back, and it will hurt me less when I go”
The Irish experience is all too aware of the centuries long shadow that can be cast by legacies of settler colonialism, illegal displacement and violence. I signed this yesterday and would urge anyone to share and sign if they can.
Listen, I’m still wearing my mask around strangers because I have no faith in other Americans to be honest about their vaccination statuses. Plus, I want others to feel comfortable around me since they won’t know my vaccination status.
Does anyone else find themselves deliberately putting themselves down out loud because you want to get reassurance? Like I’ll say “oh I’m so bad at ___” just so someone will say “no you’re not!” or “ur so good at this other thing!” I think it’s part of the gifted kid syndrome 😭
procrastination (aka fear of starting an assignment or putting effort in and still doing badly, etc.) hasn’t been an unmanageable problem for me for a long time but here we are at 2am the day before an assignment is due and I won’t start it but I won’t go to sleep 🥲
