.@NordVPN has increased its P2P support to almost every server location on its network, which is great for users. Check our updated review to see what this means for how they compare with very best VPNs in the world https://t.co/nLbmOjHbRJ

This is why you just can't trust free #VPN apps https://t.co/AzE2gVRrMY

I first raised the alarm about the Turbo VPN family of #VPN apps and their Chinese ownership links in 2018. Looks like I was right & they're connected to blacklisted Chinese security firm Qihoo 360. It highlights the problem with free VPNs...

#TikTok has gone dark in the U.S. and as expected frustrated users are turning to #VPN apps in huge numbers. We saw a huge spike of 827% in the hours following the start of the #tiktokban - that's crazy numbers for a country like the U.S. where VPN's are already popular

@vanhoefm A scan of the entire IPv4 #internet (3.7 billion addresses) and 10 million IPv6 addresses revealed over 4.2 million hosts to be vulnerable. https://t.co/rCMyeE3GCE #VPN #cybersecurity

[Mathy Vanhoef @vanhoefm]

After an embargo of 8 months, we are glad to finally share our USENIX Security '25 paper! We found more than 4 MILLION vulnerable tunneling servers by scanning the Internet.

These vulnerable servers can be abused as proxies to launch DDoS attacks and access internal networks.

[Simon Migliano @simonmigliano]

This was a really interesting project to work on. Not only is there hard data showing the extent of the flaws in the tunneling protocols but @vanhoefm also developed new DoS attack techniques in the process.

Over 4 million internet hosts, including #VPN servers and home routers, are vulnerable to being hijacked for anonymous attacks & access to their private networks. Find out more & watch @vanhoefm explain these new flaws https://t.co/2FmBqedjQU #vulnerabilities #cybersecurity

There were more hours of government #InternetShutdowns and in more countries around the world in 2024 than ever before. These deliberate internet disruptions cost $7.69 billion. Find out more in our brand new report published today: https://t.co/aXnxDHHxg8 #KeepItOn

I'm sure there are better things to spend $650 million on than blocking #VPN traffic https://t.co/wh4GqCD0CS #Russia #censorship

At least 30 #VPN apps are unavailable for install on the #Brazil App Store, for reasons currently unclear. One affected provider #ProtonVPN speculates #Apple might be complying with govt order. See the full list of VPNs here: https://t.co/8l4Cy6Ykb2

[Top10VPN @top10vpn]

It's not acceptable that #Apple is removing #VPN apps from the Russian App Store in compliance with Roskomnadzor demands. This just helps facilitate the move towards a "splinternet" where the Russian people are cut off from the rest of the global internet, whether they like it or not.

Did you know that almost 90% of free #Android #VPN apps leak? Or that 71% share your data with third parties such as Facebook, Yandex or data brokers? Our head of research @simonmigliano tested 100 of the most popular free VPNs on the Play Store https://t.co/mENb7amAaw

[Simon Migliano @simonmigliano]

I'm really excited to share this today! I always enjoy working with @vanhoefm as his #networksecurity research is as good as it gets. #vpn #wifi #cybersecurity

[Mathy Vanhoef @vanhoefm]

We discovered that the Wi-Fi network name isn't properly verified when connecting. Clients can be tricked to connect to a wrong network. E.g., can downgrade clients to the less secure 2.4 GHz. To be presented at WiSec'24.

Simon of @top10vpn wrote about it https://t.co/gxph52TIfx
