THE ANC’S RENAISSANCE OF RACISM The Gauteng Department of Education, under the dismal leadership of Matome Kopano Chiloane, chose to ignore all evidence and independent investigations that exonerated the students falsely accused of racism at Pretoria High School for Girls. Instead, they decided to use Mrs. Erasmus as a scapegoat to save face, trying to justify their unconstitutional actions and the abuse of process in removing the principal from her position in the first place. The ANC in Gauteng, particularly under the ineffective leadership of Panyaza Lesufi, has only one tactic left in its arsenal: fostering division through racism. The report released by the department today, celebrated with much fanfare, was not only flawed in its approach but also failed in its attempt to prove the baseless claims of racism against Mrs. Erasmus and Mrs. Schoombie. Its true intent was to absolve the department for egregiously violating Mrs. Erasmus’s rights, as officials shamefully manhandled her off school grounds while allowing unruly students to verbally abuse her during her departure. Furthermore, they have kept her on suspension for over three months without any substantive or legal justification. The events at Pretoria High School for Girls over the past six months serve as a microcosm of South Africa as a whole. We are witnessing ineffective and maladroit leadership from a morally corrupt ruling elite in its final gasps, while the biased and corrupt legacy media amplifies the ANC’s racist agenda. Rather than ushering in the African Renaissance that Thabo Mbeki so eloquently spoke of, the ANC has instead delivered a failed socialist revolution, shrouded in a resurgence of racism and division. The reinstatement of Mrs. Erasmus is nothing short of a miracle, and it certainly isn’t due to “common sense prevailing,” as claimed by the Democratic Alliance, because such sense is notably absent among government officials. Journalists who turned up to the press briefing at Pretoria Girls yesterday missed the biggest part of the story. The department did not release the report. They just released a media summary, which itself was riddled with factual errors and lies. #schoolcapture
