@TweeterViewerY@Robertg761_@durreadan01@heysamir_ This is the article I read about it, it’s kinda biased in its wording but other sources talked about this too.

This is related but I think part of a different talk.

You can probably find some other snippets of these talks on X.
‘We, of course, don’t use Google Search or anything like that as the foundation of our system. So, hope that’s clear’: Apple’s Craig Frederighi at #WWDC26 in Apple Park

@Robertg761_@durreadan01@heysamir_ No, they said in a talk with developers that their model is a distilled model (from Gemini). It’s what deepseek did to make theirs from ChatGPT but obviously apple actually had permission from google to do this, unlike deepseek which didn’t when they used ChatGPT.
@Roxleton I must be one of the only ones here that liked having the icons. They just needed to not add it to every menu option (mainly for the menu bar). I don’t like that they removed almost all the icons in Music because the icons make it easier to find the option I want imo
@LuftkoppTim I’m pretty sure I remember them doing for other device specific bugs. Like touch screen issues, or the Apple Watch Series 3 not having enough space to update.
@cvvobh@Grummz I’m definitely sticking to DuckDuckGo for privacy, but maybe I’ll get better results with startpage by scrolling past the first few results and going to the next page. You might have taught me something new haha. I miss the pre-AI internet where you got human results first…
@cvvobh@Grummz Hmmm, if I’m being honest I don’t really scroll past the first few results because I was so used to the pre-AI internet where the top results were what you wanted. Now days I’m noticing so many of the top results being AI generated articles which is my frustration.
@cvvobh@Grummz Search is easy, google search has become shit. I switched to DuckDuckGo, and when it doesn’t have the results I want, I use the !s bang to search with startpage which is google results without the tracking.
@starman8888@applesclubs This is bc you have 64GB of RAM. macOS will cache apps & OS services in RAM to increase responsiveness bc you have lots free. On a Mac with less RAM, macOS will use less for cache and OS services. Unused RAM is wasted RAM. You only need to worry about high memory pressure.
@CodyMKW@Rahll@TheMG3D Instead of !g I use !s which uses startpage. Startpage uses googles results but does so privately, meaning google gets less information on you.
@will67857 @apple_inte@markgurman The OS doesn’t need a lot of RAM if we’re being honest. Having more is helpful because it can keep more apps open. But local LLMs need lots of RAM, there’s no way around that. Having more RAM for the LLMs lets you run bigger and better models too
@amisecured@WorkaholicDavid Are you sure it doesn’t wipe away? I remember the coating on pervious pro iPhones looked like it was scratched but it had just taken some metal off of stuff like keys (since the glass is harder on the mohs scale) and would wipe away.
@lusovodka@corbinwilliams@xyster@kylehalevi No it did, the 6s was an improved iPhone 6. They improved the metal alloy to fix bend gate, along with a bunch of other improvements but they shared the same body. The 6 was actually the first iPhone with the camera bump.
@asherdipps Honestly, part of the problem here is your background contains a giant white strip. That messed with the contrast a lot. I really like the liquid glass looks, they just need to increase the blur in a few areas especially the control centre
@borntoFLY11135@FirstSlaves@kenndotpro @cptnd_ @TheAppleDesign@DylanBrassel macOS does that too with the old split screen system. The new system that was added in the current major update lets you drag the window to snap it to 1/2 or 1/4 of the screen. And you can get it to go right to the edges, it is a setting — idk why LTT didn’t do more research.
@KumailNanji@CranQnow You can also go to Finder > View > Show View Options, check "Calculate all sizes" to show folder sizes without having to use get info on each folder.
