The roadmap and changelog are now separated, making it clearer what’s coming next and what has already been shipped.

We’ve also given the website a small visual refresh and added our paper on PQ Rerand, recently published in the Journal of Cryptographic Engineering.

Why Massa?

When our three founders started researching blockchain technology in 2017, they saw a number of limitations in the way blockchains were being built.

Scalability often came with trade-offs in decentralization. Running a node could require significant resources. And applications still depended heavily on infrastructure outside the blockchain.

So they asked a simple question:

Can a blockchain scale without giving up decentralization?

That question led to Massa.

Years of research and development followed, eventually turning that question into a live network.

And that's how Massa started.

For about 10 years now, I have argued that the *only* way forward is for AI technology to be widely available, shared, and open.
Like the printing press and the Internet, AI amplifies human intelligence and efficiency by improving access to knowledge.
To empower individuals, societies require a high diversity of AI systems with different value systems, linguistic abilities, philosophical/political biases, and specific expertise.
We need diverse AIs for same reason we need a diverse press.

Given the cost and complexity, this can only be achieved through open foundation models on top of which anyone can build systems with their languages, biases, expertise, and value systems.

I have been more vocal about this over the last 4 years, since AI popped into the public discourse.
I have made the argument in various forums: corporate C-suites, AI safety discussion groups, professional meeting, the US Senate, the UN Security Council, and the public sphere through media interviews, podcasts and social media posts.

I totally agree with @finkd Mark Zuckerberg's recent piece in which he writes: "the notion that AI is so dangerous that the only safe path is an extreme concentration of power seems inherently problematic. Historically, hoping that an absolute power will benevolently provide for humanity if sufficiently enlightened has not led to safe or positive outcomes.”

When @DarioAmodei writes: “some may object that we can simply keep AIs in check with a balance of power between many AI systems, as we do with humans", he is talking about me, among (thankfully) many others. It is the only good path forward.

There will be nefarious uses of AI, as there have been with every technology ever invented.
But it will be your Bad AI against my Good AI.

⚙️Massa Mainnet 4.1 is live

We just released MAIN.4.1, a new mainnet update focused on node-level optimizations identified after the October mainnet crash.

The most critical fixes were already included in MAIN.4.0, but several important improvements were still pending. MAIN.4.1 completes this work by improving performance, stability, and resilience of the node software.

What’s included in MAIN.4.1 :

- Decoupling block production from blocking caused by pool slowness
- Async pool optimizations
- Improved and increased default pool channel size configuration
- Several additional fixes and cleanups

This is not a critical update, but it is strongly recommended to upgrade in order to keep the network healthy and benefit from the latest optimizations.

Les États vivent à crédit, les entrepreneurs à la performance.

Elle imprime, subventionne, régule, contrôle.
Son moteur, c’est la taxation.
Sa mesure, c’est le court terme.
Sa survie dépend d’un mot : “confiance”.

De l’autre, l’économie réelle : celle des entrepreneurs, des artisans, des travailleurs.
Elle crée, produit, innove, exporte.
Son moteur, c’est l’effort.
Sa mesure, c’est la valeur créée.
Sa survie dépend d’un autre mot : “réalité”.

Le problème, c’est que ces deux mondes ne s’équilibrent plus.

Quand la politique taxe pour sauver le système, elle affaiblit ceux qui le font tourner.

Quand la monnaie se dissout dans l’impression monétaire, c’est la valeur travail qui se dissout avec elle.

L’économie politique devient collectiviste pour prolonger son agonie.
L’économie réelle sombre, perd son ancrage et sa liberté.

Cette fracture n’est pas une fatalité.
Elle appelle une réponse.

Une réponse entrepreneuriale radicale,
