A long time ago, kings owned all the land, and serfs owned nothing. Today, content and data are becoming as valuable as land. And the lords of Silicon Valley don't want us owning our digital selves anymore than kings wanted serfs owning their land. I wrote an OpEd about it ๐
@IanDreiblatt I wouldnt count a seasoning as something you would chew โ what a great qualifier! I guess the best way to gauge would be what i use the most: salt / pepper (sorry) โ rosemary (fresh!), ginger (you can chew, i guess) tumeric
@IanDreiblatt Im sure the voice in ones head could read your words in a way that feels unfriendly. but, that's more of a comment on the state of the world, im afraid...
This may seem obvious but we have to try to stop seeing fellow Americans as enemies. Of course there are bad eggs but I mean seeing an entire party as an enemy, for example, is self-destructive.
I believe most people are fairly moderate, itโs just the algorithms amplify the extremes.
We canโt let the algorithms trick us into seeing each other through the very distorted lens of social media.
We need across the isle summer camps for adults or something. To learn to hang out a bit and humanize each other.
Or maybe magic mushroom retreats for moderates?
