@PhilWMagness That’s a valid criticism early on but by Operation Bagration the Soviet operational tempo, use of combined arms , tactical and strategic deception made them unstoppable.

@PhilWMagness I wouldn’t call the Soviets “ heroes “ but the Eastern Front was orders of magnitude larger and deadlier than other theaters . The Soviets engaged about 80% of total German military forces… 30-50 million deaths. Heroes? No… crucial for the ultimate outcome..no doubt.
