@S_Sykiotis @GBPolitcs Don’t think that would be the case with Consultants whose specialty involves theatre time as there would be lots of empty theatres…. And the biggest group of Consultants in any hospital by some way are Anaesthetists who are always in theatres!!!!!

@S_Sykiotis @GBPolitcs Clearly you have no idea how NHS contracts work. My partners consultant contract states she has to do 40.5 hrs average per week over a set period for her NHS trust before she could do any private work.
Any private work would have to be done once she has done her contracted hours

@AndyGuy67 @GBPolitcs The full and final scheme closed years ago. Most who were on that have probably already retired… Some consultants may have a portion in that scheme with some in newer schemes.

@cardiffpriv @TheBMA Consultants in Ireland are paid a lot more than English Consultants which says it all…. If they worked in the US they would earn 2.5 times more. If you don’t pay them all the young consultants will move abroad then waiting lists will get bigger!
