@Kevin_McKernan Why then, do you think we only see acceleration since 2021 in 45-49 localized cancers but not for ages 20-44 or later stages?
Please reconcile your theory with this important nuance.
Yes. The USPSTF update cannot explain the trends in 20-44 yr olds. But, the trend in this age group was similar. Increasing and concerning, no doubt.
We can't conflate a statistically insignificant difference (2% to 4%) increase among 20-44, with a clear acceleration (0.12% to 32%) in 45-49.

Those trends remained consistent with pre-2021 trends. Increasing, but nothing like what you see in the 45-49 early stage group.
2021-2023 trends were no different than the pre 2021 trends. Compare the APCs and CIs.
We don't say CRC incidence isn't rising. It is rising. But, aside from early stage 45-49 yo, the trend is consistent.
The acceleration from 2021, however, can best be explained by USPSTF update.

We don't dismiss the rising incidence since 2021 in other age groups, but the trends in other ages and reg/distant stage were similar to pre-2021 trends. I. e., no acceleration from 2021.
