Remember when Joe Biden was going to “weaponize the justice system against his political enemies” and of course he wasn’t, and it never happened, and then Trump is President now and he’s weaponizing the justice system against his political enemies?
To anyone who thinks it’s an “exaggeration” that the rule of law is in danger…
U.S. Senator Mark Kelly is being investigated for the “crime” of telling people not to commit crimes.
We’ve fallen far.
History will harshly judge the failure of our legal/political system to hold Trump accountable for his attempt to overturn the 2020 election (including his sponsorship of Jan6). So many culprits: Supreme Court, Merrick Garland, Republicans in Congress, and yes, 77 million voters.
History lesson: every single job you now think of as union-coded (mining, factory work, etc) was, prior to be unionized, broadly seen as inherently transient, precarious and for unmarried young people. The only reason they stopped being coded that way is because…they unionized

New @CookPolitical: after 2024, Republicans will have effective control of the legislative process in 25 states, vs. 15 for Democrats. Another 10 states will have split power. A great rundown of what's changed, by @MattKleinOnline: https://t.co/U3wSL3DMlG
It’s not a “wake up call”
It’s what always happens
1) Republicans cut taxes for the rich promising the state can afford it
2) the tax cuts cause budget deficits
3) Republicans blame schools & say the solution is to defund public education
4) Repeat, repeat, repeat

Final count: the 2024 election was decided by 229,766 votes across MI, PA and WI out of about 155.2 million cast nationally, with PA (Trump +1.7) the Electoral College tipping point state. https://t.co/QX5osPod0x
Trump has for years told vague lies about elections in Philadelphia, and he repeated some of those false claims before Election Day this fall, as usual providing no specifics.
From colleague @holmeslybrand: The Philadelphia Police Department told CNN they were not aware what Trump was referring to and did not know of any issues with voting that required a law enforcement response.
