The 2026 Atlantic hurricane season just started, but Florida is dedicated to disaster preparedness all year round. We always plan for the worst that nature can throw at us, and we execute those plans to ensure effective response, recovery, and restoration.
I encourage all Florida residents and visitors to have a household plan for hurricane season that considers the needs of children, seniors, and pets in their family. Disaster preparedness essentials—including many pet items—are now tax-free in Florida.
Make sure to follow @FLSERT and your local emergency management for important updates heading into this hurricane season!

Great to be in Tampa today to sign HB 249, designating the S.S. American Victory as Florida’s official state flagship. The S.S. American Victory, a World War II-era vessel, is one of only three Victory Class WWII steamships that remain fully operational today.
After WWII, the S.S. American Victory went on to carry troops and cargo in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Now, the ship is preserved as a museum and memorial in Tampa, serving as a tribute to American service members and our state’s maritime heritage.

Today I had the opportunity to tour @MAPEIUSA’s manufacturing facility in Wildwood. This Italian company has 3 FL facilities, including its US HQ. They make construction products - self-levelers, adhesives and sealants. A great candidate for #CoolestThingMadeInFlorida@FLChamber
