The decisions being made around AI will change the #FutureOfWork. But if we put in the effort now, workers can benefit.
Today, we’re proud to release PAI’s Guidelines for AI and Shared Prosperity, a tool to ensure AI supports an inclusive economic future: https://t.co/H26oyHdevo
Great work! "the Guidelines include a tool to assess an AI system’s...impacts on workers and the labor market, best practices...as well as suggested uses for labor organizations, workers, and policymakers". PAI's Guidelines for AI and Shared Prosperity https://t.co/tU5HzxeLig

We know the AI community is approaching potential risks from all angles. In a rapidly evolving landscape, we must find common ground on what it means to be a cautious actor while considering diverse perspectives, including those of affected communities.

This year’s #Roboethics competition at #ICRA2023 has started! Calling all robot ethics enthusiasts who want to contribute to responsible innovation! Form a team and make robots more ethical. @CRAiEDL @ieee_ras_icra @uOttawaGenie https://t.co/bK9xyiIZYB
So here’s my complaint: @WalmartCanada appears to be targeting the elderly to sign them up for credit cards with little to no informed consent. This is morally reprehensible, and should probably be investigated by @OttawaPolice and @CBCOttawa for its legality. /5
Witnessed what seemed an extremely PREDATORY behaviour at the @BayshoreOttawa@WalmartCanada today when a cashier signed an elderly (75+) customer up for a credit card with basically zero informed consent AND after the customer declined a first time. /1
I intervened with the customer service representative, who tried to shut me up. I explained that there was NO way the customer was clearly aware of the fact that she was being signed up for a credit card. I was told I could contact the manager to lodge a complaint. /4
