Thirty years ago, Woody Harrelson and the Kentucky Hemp Growers Cooperative Association — founded by Joe Hickey — staged a planned arrest in Beattyville. The co-op had been at it two years; they even invited the sheriff to watch. Their lobbying helped get hemp into the 2014 Farm Bill. Thousands of farmers later, November 12 reopens the same fight.
