@Ashton_1nvests $AMZN will be a big winner once the AI buildout gets to the 5th inning or so. Their investments in the AI ecosystem, AWS, robots replacing humans, AI solving logistical problems related to shipping goods, almost like a worldwide utility co., etc.
@PeterSchiff Take it easy with that trade thesis. It will be a bumpy ride but the US stock market will outperform every major foreign market between now and 2035, and probably 2045. Why, because the US attracts the ppl around the globe who want to grind.
@WallStreetApes By the way, whenever you see an older street corner retrofitted with a compliant ramp, the cost is on the order of $5-10k, minimum. This can be a lot higher depending on the location. That is to demo, haul off, form up and pour back.
@elonmusk Wondering what role outside sources coupled with polymarket betting played in the outcome of the LA mayor contest. Seems a little sketchy that Bass seemed to stay consistent at 34-35% but Raman surged over the last 2-3 days of counting. Ppl betting on Raman made $$$.
What happened is they moved the drug addicts to south of the Bay Bridge. Sorry to hear your hometown isn’t doing well. Mine is a mess too, East Contra Costa, Antioch. It’s seems like a lot of Bay Area counties aren’t doing as well as the metropolitan areas on the East Coast and elsewhere across the country.
@GuntherEagleman I was thinking about this a bit more. Does anyone know why two places like Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, which around 2012 were both considered great places to live have turned out so differently. Why is BH good and S Monica not?
Just spent 5 days there last week. It’s a mess. We stayed downtown in the Biltmore. Great, historic hotel. Traveled all over downtown. We had an event out in Korea town. Without asking, our driver volunteered that Korea town used to be nice. He seemed embarrassed. He said, not nice anymore, addicts everywhere. We explored all over. Hollywood is still bad but places like the Melrose area have gone south. Lots of trash and boarded up store fronts. Redondo/Manhattan Beach area was pleasant, didn’t get out to Santa Monica but heard it still wasn’t doing well. Burbank and Studio City were ok but you can tell “the cancer is spreading.” It’s hard to believe that LA will be hosting the World Cup and Olympics soon.
