The Obidient Movement rejects, in the strongest terms, the continued insistence by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) @inecnigeria that Artificial Intelligence will be deployed in the collation of election results in 2027, even as the Commission admits that its AI governance framework has not been finalised.
This is reckless and unacceptable.
INEC cannot tell Nigerians that it intends to introduce AI into one of the most sensitive stages of the electoral process while simultaneously admitting that the rules governing its use are still being developed.
Nigerians are not guinea pigs for another untested electoral experiment. We reject the use of AI in results collation and demand that INEC immediately abandon the plan.
After the disastrous credibility crisis surrounding the 2023 elections, INEC should be doing everything possible to restore public confidence. Instead, the Commission continues to introduce opaque processes that create even more questions about how results will be generated, verified and ultimately declared.
The Obidient Movement will not accept a situation where INEC, having failed to deliver credible elections in 2023, introduces AI into the results process and then looks for technology to blame when things deliberately go wrong.
In 2023, they switched off the IREV and then went on to blame a “glitch” for their collusion. Since that strategy has now become obsolete, INEC is now looking for something to blame this time, and it will not be accepted. Nigerians demand a transparent, auditable and verifiable process in which every result can be traced from the polling unit to the final declaration.
We are equally concerned by the INEC Chairman's warning to Nigerians and media organisations against announcing or declaring results that do not come from INEC.
While the Commission has the statutory authority to declare official results, such warnings, coming at a time when INEC is simultaneously pushing an unfinalised AI framework, raise serious questions about what the Commission is trying to control and why.
These developments only reinforce the concerns and allegations that have continued to circulate about the relationship between INEC, the APC and the Tinubu administration.
There have been rumours of the INEC Chairman being in France with Tinubu, Wike and other election rigging political actors of the APC to perfect their rigging strategies for 2027. This could explain Wike’s renewed confidence in who he will allow to win and who he won’t allow to win in 2027.
It also explains the INEC Chairman’s insistence that AI will be used in the 2027 elections, despite the fact that INEC has perpetually failed in the basics.
INEC must understand that Nigerians will not accept any arrangement that gives room for the manipulation or manufacture of election results. All the multiple alterations and defacing of election result sheets in 2023 were not because of the absence of technology. Instead, they were clear demonstrations that INEC continues to act in bad faith to steal the mandate of Nigerians and hand it over to criminals.
The lesson from 2023 should be clear: Nigerians will not accept manufactured results in 2027. The votes of Nigerians belong to Nigerians. No algorithm, server, software, official or political party has the right to alter the wishes of the people.
The Obidient Movement therefore demands that INEC:
1. Immediately abandon plans to use AI in election results collation.
2. Publish a clear, transparent and independently auditable framework for every technology to be deployed in the electoral process.
3. Ensure that results remain traceable to the polling unit and verifiable by political parties, observers, journalists and citizens.
4. Adopt @mundx_analytics' five commitments that INEC must make, including the publication of Forms EC8A, EC8B, EC8C, EC8D and EC8E on IREV.
5. Guarantee that the will of voters, and not the preferences of political actors or INEC officials, determines who wins elections.
The INEC Chairman must retrace his steps while there is still time. In 2027, Nigerians will not surrender their votes to technology, bureaucracy or manipulation.
Every vote must count, every result must be verifiable, and the true choice of the Nigerian people must prevail. The mandate belongs to the people.
Nigeria must be OK.

@Dee_9889 But wait! I'm yet to see any adc supporter who is concerned about defending their vote or monitoring the results. The only thing they talk about all the time is coalition.

“Any Igbo man supporting this APC government is a w!ck£d Igbo man. When it comes to politics in Igbo land, in the last 40 years, apart from late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, no other Igbo man has done what Peter Obi has done. Y’all should know that without you people, Obi will still win.”
