Yes there was varna mixing, but lowborns ? I don't think so...not in atleast genuine kayastha households....So trying to fit them into typical Hindi varna system is ego satisfaction of Brahmins.

Scriptures that demean Kayastha varna were political motivated to demonize mixing of Varnas. Kayastha were never low-borns but remanants of anti-orthodox Buddhist cult that became a religion. Buddhism was never meant to be a religion, Kayastha were brahmin-counters of that.

To begin with, Kayastha were cousins offshoot of Hindu savarna who decided to try the new trend out of Political and personal reasons. They were a result of evolution. And look at the result, such a community with so less but so achieved.

Friends, I have great news. I have been selected for the 27th conference of the European Association for South Asian Archaeology and Art from 6-10 July, 2026. The title of my paper : “Garhwa: An Early Centre of the Rāma
Cult.”

In 2024, I discovered the oldest known Ram temple Prashasti at this site, with the evidence of Ram worship at this site going as far back as the 5th century in the Gupta era. All of this is pointless. Senas got subsumed into the Baidya caste of Bengalis, and Palas got subsumed into the Kayastha caste of Bengalis (all shoodras btw, shoodra excellence), and every non-Ashraf origin Bengali is at their core, just a Bengali. I’d even give this grace of
