@katphishedd@loony_tooms Right I see but in that instance I think it's not very persuasive because an international water management body isn't very similar to colonialism, and not because "things that are similar to colonialism are bad" is poor logic
@loony_tooms Imo considering Trump as fascist or Israel as colonial is pretty useful, analytically and rhetorically. like ifl people aren't saying hm Israel is bad because it reminds them of colonialism, rather: Israel is bad, and it is also engaging in colonialism (also bad)
I hate baby talk. Whenever I talk to young kids, I try to talk like I'm talking to an adult. I feel like if you baby talk them you make them stupid idk idk
and the date cut-offs for registering with Inclusion and Disability Services are super brutal and harsh esp for ppl struggling. idk they just reject ur special cons sometimes for INSANE reasons and are so officious abt it in a way that can be distressing
i feel like there is a real "missing middle" in terms of the services usyd offers to ppl with medium term / long running chronic health / mental health issues. paradoxically after something becomes less of a temporary issue it can become way harder to get special cons...
... but a lot of ppl who need more ongoing support do not conceive of themselves as disabled and so are alienated from "Inclusion and Disability Services" even if they would be given help through it + deserve/need it
