"Hala nag-condom = HIV"
"Hala nagpatest = HIV"
"Hala bayot = HIV"
Because it's taboo and not normalized, it continues to NOT be a topic of discussion, but of dirty gossip #cnuvsmmcmicrobio

In these trying times, I would be a med student dedicated to sharing awareness of HIV whether in public or private to help information dissemination about treatment, testing, and prevention to be one of the contributors in fighting the STIGMA. #cnuvsmmcmicrobio

There are a lot of challenges when it comes to the HIV problem.
1. A lot has no access to prevention, treatment, and care especially in the very distant communities in the mountainous areas.

2. HIV Stigma is still rampant. When a neighbor/ known person is diagnosed, the community would discriminate and worse, isolate them. This also increases depression rates with HIV-positive people.
Even though awareness about HIV has been advocated, the stigma of HIV-positive is still rampant thus a lot are hesitant to get tested. #cnuvsmmcmicrobio
