@AvidCommentator Our finance minister is a social worker. She studied a Bachelor of arts. I'm not sure she has the skills to turn this ship around and probably going to get much worse.
@GeoffWilsonWAM@AlboMP I note our Finance Minister has no professional finance qualificiation. She holds a BA and was a social worker. No wonder we are falling off a cliff. As an accountant in a large corporate environment there is ZERO chance I'd have all knowledge required without my finance qual.
@haydenbeamish Not worth living in Aus anymore, just become infinitely harder to accumulate serious wealth.. if you can move domocile , pay less tax there, you can retire younger.. basically working til 65 to fund NDIS rort if living in Aus
@cptnjamescook@SandyofCthulhu Also S.African medicine student intake based on skin colour only +\- 10% of uni spots for whites. 90% non white. Even if your Atar better but the white quota is full students of other demographics are chosen over you. We left 8 yrs ago my son studying to become a DR in Aus
@nonestlex Each to their own. I work across several continents as a constultant. Yes Aus highest tax bracket on par with the rest, but its tax brackets are better compared to many. Therein lies the answer. In saying that when I reach 55 I'm outta here but mostly assets will remain in Aus
@DearS_o_n 1)Pay off debt 2) Save and grow money with compound iterest over time 3)Dont buy jetskis boats and bikes if you cant do it cash 4) Drive your car til its wheels fall off 5) Holidays dont go if you cant pay cash
@unusual_whales In my network those with relevant degrees eg. Medicine, finance or law, earn waayy more than those without. Some of the latter do well but those with degrees over time earn exponentially more. Gen Z should keep their head down and work hard, it will pay off.
@Mr_Derivatives Agree to some extent but amount to cover debt get kids thru school + uni, but be adjusted over time eg as your savings and home equity increases reduce insurance cover put those savings in your mortgage and once you have enough equity cancel life insurance.
@debbiepieterse Moved 8yrs ago, have far more opportunities and much higher qual of life than in SA. Son becoming a Dr no quota nonsense and we looking at 55 retirement. Very slim chance of having these options in SA. Was in SA for mining Indaba earlier, the decline is very noticeable even CT
@rationalaussie Am finding as my business is growing and dealing with people at board level or owning their own businesses the upper echelons dont even have Linkedin profiles.
@ausstockchick Several of my friends' kids watch eg. CSI than go study Criminology for a year, after a few months they realise this is not like TV at all, drop out, study something else, and repeat. Was going to pay for my kids uni studies - am now thinking maybe hecs route better @ 20% off!?
