But WHY does interest in reading decline at higher grades? One possible reason: as texts get harder, kids lack the background knowledge & vocabulary that can make reading an interesting and enjoyable experience.
A leader is someone who believes in you and helps you believe in yourself.
A leader doesn’t change you, but a leader does create conditions where you can change yourself.
Leadership is helping others succeed.

Teacher,
When you use sarcasm and talk to me like you are my age, it doesn't make me think you're "relevant", "cool", or funny. It just makes me not trust you. It makes me think you don't like me & makes me feel like you don't care. I need your best!
Respectfully,
Your Student
Each new day is a gift. You’ve never lived it before, and you’ll never live it again. Instead of rushing around only feeling pressures of the things you have to do, think of the amazing wonder you get to do any of these things. Each day is a blessing.
We cannot let a kid choose to fail. We must keep on them, keep working with parents, try everything, and never give up on them.
P.S. They will one day appreciate it, even if they never thank you.

A School that is a TEAM isn't necessarily in agreement on Everything. Instead, they are a group of professionals that disagree, says what's on their mind, while remaining UNITED & COMMITTED to what matters most...Students! #edchat#education
We need to continuously push our students toward a high level of responsibility and ownership for their own learning. #Agency Be the cause rather than the effect. Via @drrhanson#Resilient
The greatest characteristic of the best Teachers is their ability to recognize the difference between, "I taught it" and "They learned it." -@Doug_Lemov
