@jazzRodeo@walterkirn It’s not exactly off to a roaring start. First episode was a snippet of Aristophanes that Matt said “is short enough to read in the bathroom,” the second was just two guys riffing about “what happened to reading.” For a podcast about books, where are the books and where is Walter
@mtaibbi It’s strange that you are urging people to log off and “get lit” while you are doing yet another podcast. There are books podcasts that are really good and they require a huge amount of prep, not just riffing and picking short passages
@mtaibbi But you have not really covered any books, a brief snippet on Aristophanes and an episode riffing on whatever happened to reading. The books idea is never gonna work because you guys are clearly too busy with social media stuff. You can’t just phone it in, books require slow work
@mtaibbi Premise of “Get Lit”:
“I've spent the last few years in social-media combat, podcast feuds, and political commentary. Now let me guide you through the classics.”
@piousdeenn Whenever someone says you must come to my house for dinner I am filled with dread because usually I do not want to go to someone house for dinner — so if someone said that, I’d be annoyed and dreading the invite
