@saragoldrickrab@AmericanAir That’s absurd. My daughter and I just flew American and we boarded our flights with coffee and food we purchased in O’Hare and again in Dallas
@RossKneeDeep Think of the times sign as “groups of.” If you have zero groups of five, you have zero. The same if you apply commutative property and say five groups of zero is still zero.
@ElizabethMWard3@TizzyEnt Wholeheartedly agree, but this is a charter school. They don’t fall under the same regulations as a public school. This is one reason why we public school teachers are so against vouchers. These “teachers” I’m charter schools do not have the appropriate training/education.
@GSmokesweed1 Clean…used to always be spotless and then I aged. I realized I wasn’t enjoying life bc the time cleaning to an impossible standard could be spent living.
@Baum770 @Fierce_A_F Agreed. I am fortunate to work in a district that cares for their teachers. As a military spouse, I have worked in reprehensible districts/schools. The pay was poor, but that would not have been the reason for me to leave. I at least had the privilege of knowing we’d move soon.
@WeAreErinn @Fierce_A_F I don’t disagree we need better pay to retain qualifies teachers—especially in rural areas, but the issues in education are so much deeper than throwing money at them.
Welcome to DeSantisstan: “She was a waitress. She starts teaching 3rd grade next week & the only thing she had to do to get this teaching certification was to observe certified teachers…she had to ask me what I meant by phonetic spelling.” #Floriduh#RemoveRon
@Fierce_A_F It says spouses are not eligible for the no degree option. Alt cert for candidates, who currently hold a degree, has been an option in many states for many years. I don’t agree with alt cert for elementary teachers but with the shortage, it may very well be our only option.
@Fierce_A_F Unless I missing something, it says the spouses only get fee waivers. The hiring of veterans has been common place in all schools/states I’ve taught in; however, they always had at least a Bachelor’s degree so that part is concerning.
@LaymanPhoto I’m an 80’s GenXer through and through, but I love all kinds of music. The last band T-shirt I wore was @Coldplay when I went to their concert in Dallas in May. ❤️❤️❤️
@BewilderedDoc11 @seorsamchugh@Dallas_Holladay I am not deaf, but I am profoundly hard of hearing. The pandemic is hard for those of us who rely on lip reading. In addition to my FM system, I also have a tablet that I received through STAP. It allows me to follow all conversations via live closed captioning.
