Very pleased to announce that my photo, 'Local News for Local People' is one of the three winners of Picturing Walsall.
Huge thanks to @grainphotohub@newartgallery & @HistoricEngland for running this fabulous competition!
Colour me chuffed π
Thank God for immigrants.
I am the son of an immigrant. My mother came in search of a better life & married the son of an immigrant. I was educated, mentored & inspired by immigrants.Β I fell in love & made a wonderful family with an immigrant β€οΈ

Holding Hands
Taking photos of people is, for me, a privilege. The images I make are mostly candid, snapshots of real life happening in front of me. There is so much joy to be found in these quiet moments of humanity.
Thanks for looking ππ»
A huge thank you to everyone who liked, shared or commented with memories, trivia & stories about my photo post yesterday.
I've been quite overwhelmed by the positive response. There were so many lovely comments that it took on a life of its own!
Thank you so so much ππ»
@TimWhitleytimw1@sonyaphotoart Tim, these are wonderful! I think your Mum needs an exhibition to show her beautifully enigmatic art off to a wider audience!
The rural fields, derelict boats & monumental towers combine to create a surreal scene!
Amongst it all is a friendly community of boat people. I am deeply thankful for their generosityππ»
If you're ever in the area, give the Marina Cafe a visit, you won't be disappointed π
A Field in England
On the hottest day of the year, I took a trip across the Midlands to see the last functioning coal fired power station in the UK.
Except, it didn't quite work out that way. I got quite distracted by the extraordinary scenes I found in a nearby field.... β¬οΈ
Sitting in the shadow of Ratcliffe Power Station is Redhill Marina. People bring their boats & barges from all over, seeking repairs at the workshops here.
Vessels are lifted from the water & parked in the fields, where they're repaired, lived in or sometimes, left to rot away π
@CyberSaffron Hello & thank you πππ»
These are a mix of shots taken with my Fuji XT20 & Ricoh GRii πΈ
I like to use spot metering when shooting bnw, aimed at the highlights the shadows fall away nicely π

Hello Everybody π
In the last few weeks, I seem to have been bitten by the black & white bug π·
After watching 'Ripley', I've been captivated by how the contrast between black & white can create tremendous depths of depth & cinematic atmosphere π½
It seems to me that the portrayal of the Labour win as shallow because of the vote share is misleading. This was a βget the tories outβ election. For different people that generally meant voting Labour, Lib Dem, Green or Reform. But in doing so they all knew theyβd get a Labour government and did it deliberately. In reality even Reform voters actually voted for Keir Starmer to be PM.
