@SwoonerOfficial i got stuck in the earth then the water flowed right by me but i could consider breathing in the freshness of the air before the fire burns it all down
@Ellaspore ya i was seeing replies to your original post and idk how exactly queerness shows up in the show yet but ppl refusing to engage with the idea that being queer is more than just gay romance is unfortunate, as always.
watched the first couple eps (wu) and ignoring the relationship bit for a second, it seemed like a very surface (liberal) view of capitalism, where it’s not wealth itself that is the evil but specifically a select few billionaires.
@piporstee i think what confuses me is queer baiting accusations when gmmtv has literally no incentive whatsoever to queerbait and everyone watching it knows what they’re watching.
If you’re bi and you’re wondering if it’s okay to bring your straight boyfriend to pride.
Ask yourself this question, and seriously think about it: “Is he going to be cool about it if a guy hits on him?”
@Tambulify90210 yea i don’t disagree with that framing, tho queer politics aren’t the only radical politics to reject hierarchical structures. they specifically target gender hierarchies so i’m interested to see how that shows up
@Tambulify90210 like idk if the show itself addresses queerness as a rejection of systems but one of the replies was “what does patriarchy have to do with queerness” and yea lol
“what form of economic subordination does gay marriage oppose? is there evidence individual gay marriage is leading to a socially impactful reduction in structural oppression anywhere; is it helping to dismantle gender or sexual privilege — or to entrench it for all but a few?”
read: overt political statements about gay marriage in thai bl/gl are not about “liberation” but are instead a means to posture as politically progressive and avoid criticism over absence of meaning and reason, as well as any actual radical queer politics https://t.co/gdHZ3Fhr2c
