Hello @afcbournemouth
I’m Olaogun, a winger also played as a striker from Nigeria.
I’m not asking for a contract. I’m asking for 7 days on trial to show you what I can do. If I’m not good enough, I’ll walk away with no hard feelings.
I’m fast, direct, and I work harder than anyone on the pitch.
My highlights are here: https://t.co/nD68FCLsMn
Thanks,
Olaogun

CLAUDE HAS A SERIOUS PRIVACY PROBLEM RIGHT NOW, A HUGE NUMBER OF SHARED CONVERSATIONS ARE PUBLICLY INDEXED ON GOOGLE FOR ANYONE TO FIND
when you use claude's share feature it makes a public link. it turns out those links got indexed by search engines, so "share with anyone who has the link" actually became "anyone can find this by searching"
and people are pulling up genuinely alarming stuff:
> api keys, credentials and crypto wallets
> personal resumes with real names, addresses and phone numbers
> a lawyer working through a potential ethics violation
> an engineers internal company project details
> what appear to be peoples social security numbers
> and a crazy number of deeply personal chats people never imagined another human would read
anthropic never added a noindex tag to those shared pages, so search engines were free to crawl and list them
one line of code would have prevented the whole thing
this already happened to chatgpt about a year ago, same exact issue, but openai patched it fast
if you have EVER hit share on a claude chat, assume it could be public
go to settings > privacy > your data > shared chats > manage
delete anything you dont want the whole internet to see, especially anything personal or financial
This isn't a mob or a group of vigilantes. These are South African police officers. It's one thing to restrain a suspect who has already been subdued. It's another to wrap a cloth around his head to suffocate him while continuing to hit him.
He died, and the response from a South African female minister was that the "foreigner was resisting arrest."
This man was killed inside his own home. We are witnessing the systematic targeting of Nigerians in South Africa.
🚨🔵 BREAKING: Chelsea lead race to sign Jordan Henderson as new midfielder, another surprise for #CFC.
Henderson can leave Brentford on a free transfer and Chelsea are ahead in race with two more clubs for England international.
Former Liverpool midfielder, open to the move.
A male doctor was wearing his scrubs.
A nurse touched his dick without his consent. Another nurse touched his abs.
Isn't this attempted rape?
Imagine if the genders were reversed?
Being a man is scary these days.
When we are done making jokes.
Let us remember that a plane crashed in Edo State Nigeria.
There was no emergency evacuation.
There was only 1 fire truck, No ambulances in sight, No airport police, nothing looks like if anyone was hurt with serious injuries they had a chance at survival.
People were seen walking on muddy road paths to get away from the wreckage.
This is Nigeria.
This is our reality.
They will never have waist beads to get job in an Oil company, Gas or Tech.
No beads to get shares and stocks in Tesla, Google or Nvidia.
No waist beads to become secretary of United nations or OPEC
Always beads to get gifts from men.
Such a useless product
I see a lot of curiosity about this, so I’m going to provide some insight as someone that has similar experience.
Short answer is no. Neither company has a special exchange program with UNILAG. Goldman Sachs in particular had (maybe still has) a dedicated African Recruiting Initiative (ARI). I know this because I was part of the first set of interns recruited under ARI in 2018 while I was an undergrad at LAUTECH. I later returned as a full-time engineer and interviewed students for the same program.
Goldman started ARI in 2018 as an effort to improve diversity at the company. Software engineers flew in from London, New York, and Hong Kong to Lagos to hold a recruitment day where they shared insights about the company and interviewed candidates through group projects and 1:1 interviews, followed by HackerRank assessments and final remote 1:1 interviews. I found out about the opportunity through Stutern and Jobberman at the time.
The inaugural program recruited both full-time engineers and summer interns. Successful interns were hired into the London office, and Goldman partnered with SEO (hence the SEO connection) to prepare candidates for corporate life before they moved to London. Candidates who did well during the internship got return offers as full-time engineers, so many of us already had full-time offers before graduating.
The first cohort was quite diverse, with students from UNILAG, Covenant, LAUTECH, UI, OAU, and Ashesi (Ghana). It was mostly dominated by students from UNILAG and Covenant, largely because of access to information. They found out about the program, shared it among themselves, and prepared together, and it’s the same reason they continue to dominate YoY.
The program has continued since 2018, with subsequent years mostly hiring summer interns, so it’s mainly open to students still in school. There have also been a lot of changes to the process over the years. Applications for the next summer usually open around November/December, so if you’re a student looking to work at these firms, keep an eye on LinkedIn or regularly check their careers page.
Personally, the program was life-changing, and I tried to pay it forward by mentoring a few friends who also got into the program and were retained as full-time engineers.
Many of us from that first cohort have since grown into VPs at Goldman or moved on to become senior engineers at Meta, Google, Microsoft, Palantir, DRW, and Citadel etc while others have gone on to start companies.
So if you’re a student looking to work at these companies, the easiest way in is through the internship pipeline, so hustle for it while you’re still in school. That said, I’ve also seen people who didn’t get in through the internship route come in later as full-time engineers, so that’s very possible too.
Hope this helps someone.
Alejandro Garnacho has completed a season-long loan move to Premier League club Aston Villa, with an obligation for the move to become permanent next summer should certain criteria be met.
We wish Alejandro the best as he continues his career at Aston Villa.
🚨🟣🔵 EXCLUSIVE: Aston Villa agree deal to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea, here we go!
Club to club agreement done on loan with buy clause to become mandatory under certain conditions.
Unai Emery wanted Garnacho. Medical also booked.
I genuinely think the standard workday should be 10 a.m.–3 p.m. or 9 a.m.–2 p.m. There’s no reason people should spend the majority of their lives at work. Let people get home with enough time to be with their families, partners, and friends, pursue hobbies, and actually rest. A lot of today’s burnout and unhappiness comes from the fact that work consumes almost all of our waking hours.
like i always say, the things you don't know are bigger than you & they'll always haunt you until you understand them. you think a master's degree is some kind of golden ticket to a high-paying corporate job, but it isn't.
the first thing is the illusion of the master's degree. the reality is that uk universities have turned higher education into a business, most especially for international students. they're selling degrees & not careers. for a lot of people, the degree is just the price of entry into the country.
here in the UK, your certificate is just a bloody piece of paper, & the corporate world don't care about how much you paid for it or how difficult it was to get once you're in the job market, they pay for people who can solve difficult problems, handle pressure & make the business money, that's what has value.
the disappointment comes from buying into the idea that an expensive degree automatically puts you ahead, it doesn't. a degree might get your cv looked at, but it won't convince anyone to hire you if you can't prove why you matter.
secondly, if you keep wondering why so many immigrants end up working as healthcare assistants. the answer isn't far-fetched. healthcare is one of the most accessible routes because there's constant demand, a need to fill shortages & established sponsorship pathways. it's the easiest door for many people to enter through.
corporate jobs are a completely different game. banks, tech firms & big companies are not going to spend thousands sponsoring someone unless they're convinced that person brings a serious value they can't easily find in the local market, a master's degree by itself is not that value.
the reason so many people stay stuck in healthcare isn't because the system is personally against them. it's because most never build the network, skills or positioning needed to break into corporate roles. they follow the easiest route in, then act surprised when it's hard to move into a market that demands a completely different level of value.
thirdly, another serious mistake you're making is assuming your experience is everyone's reality. just because you don't see immigrants in high-stakes corporate roles doesn't mean they aren't there. there are plenty of immigrants working in senior positions, making serious decisions that affect entire organisations & running major projects. you just don't cross paths with them.
& lastly, the first people you meet in the uk & the circles you build around yourself can shape your entire perception of what is possible. if everyone around you is struggling with the same limitations, it's easy to believe those limitations are the reality for everyone. but sometimes you're not seeing the whole system. you're only seeing the part of it you've been exposed to.
you need to understand the system for what it is, not what you wish it was. nobody is going to stop & care about how unfair it feels. the system doesn't reward emotion. it rewards people who know how to play the game.
This is the reason I told my mentee(she will see this) to focus in Nigeria and get good with her skills. She now has gotten a promotion in a Big 4 just last week.
Advanced skills armed with MSc is better than no skills in your new field.
