Copyright violation is a common issue on Youtube but with Content ID, creators can now delete a portion of their video that violated copyright instead of fully deleting the video which I find highly useful! #arin2610
@Cinnamoroll0911 Well this doesn’t look like it’s going to work out very well. Suggesting things we are not going to do is just another way to annoy us :/
@AngLi47117134@Cinnamoroll0911 @Anna21429243 @elamin88 I think that our personal experiences, followed by media largely influence the ideologies and beliefs that we hold. Often at times, media often create and portray scenarios related to social issues that represent both accurate and distorted views. #arin2610
@usydarinsy I do also feel that gamers create their own content through their gameplays and like musicians, they can be seen as 'performers'. Playing games in their own style and reacting in certain ways are all part of the 'performance'.

An interesting read on the link between IA and copyright. What do you think? Should AI-created work have copyright protection? #arin2610
@usydarinsy I agree. I also think that there should be a distinction between facts and freedom of speech. Misinformation is just a wrong way of representing freedom of speech.

Twitter is actively moderating misinformation spread by Trump but Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has said he 'has no desire to fact-check Mr. Trump.' for one has rights to freedom of speech. Who do you think is making the better decision? #arin2610

It is hard for algorithms and AI to fully replace humans as they lack contextual and emotional understanding. There are serious problems of transparency and accountability when you rely on machines to make decisions. #arin2610
@jilldu3 I absolutely agree, social media platforms are gaining an unproportionate amount of control and authority over its users that it can become dangerous in the opinions we form through misleading information. From there, social media's influence on politics becomes a broader issue.

Twitter has implemented strict measures to tackle disinformation spread by Trump such as adding fact-checks and labels to his posts which makes his posts harder to share. This also cautions other users of possible misinformation. #arin2610

Social media sites have adopted various methods such as deleting posts and suspending accounts to solve the problems of misinformation, hate speech, and harassment but why are these issues still significantly perpetuated? #arin2610

Did you know that Facebook has an internal measurement tool that analyses discussion trends and helps predict the likelihood of potential real-world violence? #arin2610

Is social media the epitome of spreading false information? Tight-knit communities in smaller social media sites such as pinterest are fighting the spread of disinformation with far fewer resources than Facebook and Twitter. #arin2610
@Vickyyyan I agree, our current generation live in a world where internet and social media is part of our everyday lives and we are becoming more dependent on it day by day. Furthermore, tech companies are unethically continuing to take advantage of this. #arin2610

Here is another case of Google's algorithm and its bias search results whereby information that poses as a threat to their business is manipulated. #arin2610

The Consumer Privacy Rights Act called 'Proposition 24' will make it harder for Facebook and Google to track people's activity through third parties and this will better protect the rights of online users. #arin2610

Even the police are using facial recognition technology to identify and arrest protesters. However, police have said that "if someone is peacefully protesting and not committing a crime, we cannot use it against them" #arin2610
@AmandaYanTX @AmandaYanTX https://t.co/avEItDSjxL I just found out that even the police are using facial recognition to identify and arrest protesters! But for protesters, some have definitely gotten into some trouble using it! #arin2610
