✓ Players on the Bench; You have two options.
1) Sit and do nothing.
2) Stay and be mentally engaged.
You may not be physically connected to the game, but should always be technically, tactically and emotionally connected.
I can't guarantee starting line - up to anyone in my team, but can guarantee players who takes us to the next level are going to play a lots of minutes.
One Great Thing in Football Coaching.
You can talk tactics for the whole week and at the end of the week you've the result.
You either win or you lose!
We are the coaches to experience after the game and do not get quality sometimes for our work.
@IsiekweneC
Many watch the game; Few sees the game.
The Football analysis is not for everybody. Only few can see through tunnel vision and insightful thinking in complexity.
Same eyes, different views!
We need the combined thinking of the "YOUNG" and "OLD" coaches to develop grassroot football in the country.
"Modern coaches"Respect the game of the Past, Study the game of the Present and Anticipate the game of the Future."
A thinking game.
Football is a thinking game; reading situations ahead, finding solutions and managing mistakes in complexity. A player with high psychological profile, technically proficient and excellent game understanding tend to achieve something great in football.
There are 104 games in this World Cup. That is an insane number of matches.
Too much to watch properly. Too much to remember clearly. Too much to actually process if you approach it the way most people approach a tournament.
[THREAD ON HOW TO WATCH THE WORLD CUP] 🧵👇
“There is always a free man. Always. You know why? Because there is always the solution to give the ball to the goalkeeper. When the match begins, we are eleven against eleven, but when you have the ball, there are ten of you that want to take it, not eleven.”

Having 2 players stood over the ball at Wide free kicks are great for creating opportunities through dynamic advantage
As we see Hellas Verona use the third man to disrupt the Roma defensive set up
The covering defender expects an overlap but is drawn into a 3v2 situation
4 defending drills I use
to cover every phase
from goal kick → defending the box ⚽️
Same logic as the attacking drills I shared yesterday.
Here are examples 🧵
Bournemouth showing a great example on the effectiveness of the fullback running into the space when the opposition pushes their #8’s high up the pitch 🧠
New article: Inter & positional interchanges
How Inter use rotations in their 3-5-2 to create advantages, disorganize pressing structures and progress the ball into the final third

Instead of basic finishing drills, I used to run these:
→ Multiple actions (shots, 1v1s, 2v1s, crosses)
→ Wave format (super dynamic)
→ Team competition (compete + enjoy)
For me, it’s the best way to train the final third, and keep players enjoying it.
This training of Courtois is tougher than it looks. Not only does he have to catch the balls but he also has to put them in the correct box according to the colour.
No wonder his reflexes are unbelievable. Thank you Chelsea FC 🫡
@Tobennarico That's not a good sign and little hope on the team you prepared for a days for weekend game. No manager goes into the game with hope of losing, regardless of the opposition. A game is not decided until the end of it. If there is 1% chance to win it, take it.
A reminder to coaches that no game is won or lost on tactical boards or in analysis rooms. Games are won or lost by players decisions.
There are times when decisions you cannot plan win.
