As someone who rarely posts about social and political issues online, I agree with River’s closing remarks.
Lately, being online can feel draining and overly performative at times. One thing I’ve noticed over time is how social media has shifted the way people define “care.” It often feels like concern has to be constantly visible posting, reposting, reacting and if you’re not doing any of that, people quickly assume you don’t care. But real life doesn’t really work that way. I’ve met enough people to know there are those who stay quiet online but are actually well-informed and very intentional in how they treat others.
Speaking up is one way to care, but not the only way. Others quietly show concern for the country through staying aware and voting responsibly and I honestly think both ways are valid.

Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl
Throwing hate, bullying, trolling, and bashing online can cause a deep and lasting toll on a person. This will NEVER be okay.
Many people are already silently struggling with personal battles we don’t see. The effects on mental health are real. Anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and sometimes even irreversible decisions.
It’s time to break this cycle of hate. Imagine if we used these platforms not to tear each other down, but to lift each other up, with compassion, empathy, and understanding… Words are powerful. Use them to uplift, not to destroy. 🙏🏽
Kaufman: Family, Lawyers not informed after Duterte collapse in ICC custody
Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte reportedly suffered multiple falls while in detention at The Hague, with one incident causing him to lose consciousness and prompting his transfer to a hospital for cranial and brain injury assessment.
According to Atty. Nicholas Kaufman, Duterte's lead defense counsel, neither his family nor his defense team was informed of the incident in real time. They raised alarm over the lack of transparency and questioned the capacity of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to ensure Duterte’s safety and well-being while in custody.
"The former President has reported to me a couple of incidents when he fell in his cell. As a result of one of these incidents, he lost consciousness and was evacuated to hospital where he was assessed for cranial and brain injury. None of this was reported either to the Defence team or to the family in real time," he said.
