@timdennis123@seeley_nigel Great work, Tim. Enjoy listening to you on the WTA show.
Think Linda has a shout in the final?
Pegula played an incredible match against Sab, feel like I have to back her at the odds
(Sab has been beating herself recently, didn’t seem the case today)
@slinehan1 Clapping off an opponent you’ve beaten 6-0, 6-3 is slightly condescending, tbf. Clearly more “sporting” to applaud an opponent’s good shot and/or be gracious in defeat if we’re making this comparison.
In his final moments, Henry Nowak told police officers nine times “I can’t breathe” and four times that he had been stabbed.
In response police officer dragged him across the gravel, handcuffed and read him his rights.
It was the last thing Henry heard before he died.
@ChrisEvans86267@prodnose Ok, dumbdumb. I’ll bite. DB said the problem with VAR was anonymity (look the word up if you’re not sure) and I articulated why the VAR is anything but anonymous.
@MercuriusFilius Expected Profit =
(75 - bid) * bid/100
I.e. average net revenue * prob winning bid
-> Need to maximise 75xbid - bid ^2
Differentiate and set to zero :-
75 - 2bid = 0
-> max expected profit bid is 37.5
@Aaron_Magook Haha, what rubbish. The odds of a team remaining at the bottom of the league all season isn’t that large. It happens relatively frequently.
It’s just 1/20th of that chance (I.e. that this team also happens to be last alphabetically)
@12Xpert Not sure anyone would deny ‘gambling is entertainment’ (or at least the ‘promise’ of entertainment)
And some of us make money out of it as well, with no real effort needed, so it’s win-win
@TheEXECUTlONER_ “I think he’s 100% wrong” and posting a video where someone is objectively wrong and knows every single person will agree
(And no doubt this was just a skit, the cyclist doesn’t actually think they were right to do this either)
Cruel Intentions was released 27 years ago.
The film spent about $1 million to license Bitter Sweet Symphony, nearly 10% of its budget, to use in the finale. The song turned the ending into one of the most memorable moments of late ’90s teen cinema.
