Introducing Co-founder of Nesa and Nesa's Chief of Strategy, Dr. Marco Di Maggio. Dr. Di Maggio is the founding Director of the Harvard Fintech, Crypto and Web3 Lab. He is Professor of Finance at Imperial College and was Professor of Business at Harvard Business School. In 2016 Poets & Quants named him one of the Best 40 Under 40 Business School Professors in America. Dr. Di Maggio is also a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He serves as an Advisor to Coinbase, and to both DeFi and TradFi companies. His research has amassed thousands of citations and been published in top Academic Journals. Dr. Di Maggio has been widely cited by the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Bloomberg, CNBC, and Forbes on crypto, DeFi, and finance. He holds a PhD in Economics from MIT.

Introducing Chief of Research at Nesa, Dr. Claudio Angione. Dr. Angione is a recipient of the prestigious Alan Turing Development Award which he received for his work in AI in 2022. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, an MSc and BSc in Mathematics, and is Professor of AI at Teeside University. He also co-leads the Centre for Digital Innovation. Previously, Dr. Angione had a Research Science internship position at Microsoft, and a Research Associate position at the University of Cambridge. Prior to his award from the Alan Turing Institute, Dr. Angione published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers, and received a number of accolades for his outstanding academic contributions, including an award from the Italian embassy for the best research project in Physical and Engineering Sciences. Dr. Angione currently serves as program committee member of several top AI conferences, and focuses his research in AI, mathematics, and bio. @cla_angione

Dr. Zhao is also behind impactful research from ADBench, TDC, and TrustLLM. He received the Google Cloud Innovator Award in 2024, the Meta AI4AI Award in 2022, he was named to the AAAI New Faculty Highlights in 2024, and he was awarded the Norton Labs Graduate Fellowship in 2022. Dr. Zhao is a Professor of AI at USC, and has thousands of citations for his research in deep learning, machine learning robustness, and machine learning systems. Dr. Harry Yang is from Facebook AI where he created Make-a-Video, Meta’s version of OpenAI’s Sora, letting users turn text instantly into video with AI. Dr. Yang is an expert in LLM design and computer vision, working in both fields while at Meta, and has thousands of citations for his research in deep learning, along with numerous IEEE and CVPR highlight submissions and an invitation for AI professorship.
