I’m a husband and father. Among my “too many hobbies”, I love backpacking, fly fishing & bourbon. I’m an Anglican pastor in the greatest city in the southeast.
@anglicanink As an priest in the ACNA I can tell you that none of my peers that I speak to and very few that would know in our province feel this way. This is a sinful attempt to stoke unnecessary controversy. The right thing to do is retract this statement.
Right-wing pastor Robertson Henderson prophesied that Trump would be reelected, but now insists that "just because somebody prophesies something doesn't mean it's going to come to pass."
Something that has been made clear:
We need to stop saying “This is not who we are” in “America.”
Indeed, this is not who and what the United States should be, but denial won’t make the injustices and inhumane ideologies less so.
We can’t change without truth.
“As he came near and saw the city, he wept”
What made Jesus weep over Jerusalem? A nation that couldn’t separate politics and religion. A nation that couldn’t see the Kingdom from ideological power. A nation who desired a king but not the king.
Lord, have mercy.
Whatever you are doing right now, I invite you to pause and pray:
Pray for the safety of the Capitol police.
Pray for the safety of our Congress.
Pray for the safety of journalists.
Pray for the safety of the protestors.
2020 recap: my son couldn’t walk or talk in January, now he runs to the bathroom to announce
whether I’m peeing or pooping. I did more parent stuff. I’m pretty sure I’m related to the Tiger King. I read books. I started hoarding toilet paper just in case... 2021.
There many of us who deeply cherish our Pentecostal heritage. By that term, I'm referring to the value it placed on divine encounters, a real/experiential sense of God's manifest presence, worship that included body & soul, and a profound sense of expectation.
As @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris prepare to take office, may God grant them wisdom and courage to face the great challenges of leadership ahead. For all the American people, I pray for hope and a fresh vision of the common good.
Inconvenience is not persecution @seanfeucht. Also, are you willing to disclose how much money you’ve made in merch because of these events? Is any of it going to the newly widowed or orphaned due to the pandemic you are helping spread at your self-worship events?
I am thankful for a handful of dear friends who have challenged me for 15 years to be a better person, a better disciple and hopefully a better friend in return. You know who you are. I love and miss you society room boys.
