@DBGyt_ There’s presumably a call between each team and their stadium liability insurer about what it means for premiums if players charging into the stands is NOT punished.
@Squirrel_Hand Yeah but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad problem to address.
And poor instruction can convince a marginal kid to evolve from a “math learner” to “class disrupter”
Especially if they can’t divide and the class has moved to fractions or logarithms.
@uncledoomer This is kinda framed like it’s a provocative question but it’s not really. Interest rates are high because inflation is high. Maybe we have 30% higher inflation over the next 6-7 years and house prices ONLY go up 20%. That’s a huge drop in adjusted value. Not the end of the world
@smashbaals Mountains are formed by tectonic plates slowly crushing into each other-uplifting sea floor.
This means if you climb mountains and see exposed rock- you’ll often see fossilized fish and seashells
@tracewoodgrains If you’re sympathetic to arguments that eviction protections are bad for good RESPONSIBLE low income renters, you should sympathize with hard working 20th percentile HS grads who won’t continue to college.
They no longer stand out-graduation isn’t an achievement.
@tracewoodgrains I’m not specifically familiar with the Regents exam, and I understand the benefit is following 90% of other states.
But the second order effects are that HS diploma becomes a meaningless signal and bachelors requirements for employment proliferate. Pretty bad.
@I_luv_ix What do you expect this to cover? Disability services for kids are NOT cheap. Also- what’s your goal- to have more families buy insurance just for their kids without insuring themselves?
@JHWeissmann And, if society cannot prevent violent ex-criminals on parole from carrying guns- the likely solution will just be more mass incarceration/the end of parole.
@bilalfarooqui This is such a dumb idea.
There need do be zero cost public health offerings- like vaccines. Bundling with insurance makes sense.
$2000/month catastrophic plans are horrifically unpopular. So bundle some free doctor visits.
@CharlesFLehman@mattyglesias To what end though? If gun bans for felons become unconstitutional, I don’t think we see more rights for felons.
Instead, we’d likely just ramp up incarceration and give up on rehabilitation
Lock ‘em all up FOREVER
